Everyone has their own perception on how their gate should be; e.g. dog proof, ornate, plain, vertical/horizontal balustrades, see through/blanked out, etc. With this service I encourage the customer to have as much input as possible to create a gate or railings to their specific taste and needs. In the past I have helped hang gates for customers as well as make new hinges and supports letting the customer fit the gates themselves.

Indoor
A lot of my orders for indoor ironwork is for door pulls and door knobs for handmade oak furniture or restored old wood work. I also like to recycle as much as I can and for this reason make all sorts of products using old horseshoes varying from boot racks to candle holders. The gallery shows some pieces of work I have made, however there are many other designs that I am always working on to utilise recyclable materials.
Most of my indoor work is finished with a burnt on beeswax finish which brings out its medieval qualities of the high and low lights of the steel.

A massive social area for most British families on another wet and overcast day. So it is important to have all the right tools for the job and also a safe fireplace if you leave it to fizzle out overnight. We make everything you can think of for the fireplace: Fender Bars, Log Racks, Fire Grates, Mulling Dogs, Fire Pokers/Log Rollers, Fire Tongs, Fire Shovels, Brushes, Back Plates and Hooks for Companion Sets, and Fire Screens made with Stainless interwoven wire.
Another great tool that you may not have heard of for the Fireplace is a 'Blow Poker'. This bit of kit is a hollow tube with mouthpiece at one end and tapered at the other with devils horns to push any logs out of the way before you blow air into the fire to get it started. We have all heard of and probably have bellows but this is a far more effective way to start fires and can be used for BBQs too.

I have now branched out to incorporate on site welding repairs to farm machinery and equipment. To deter any unwanted guests onto private land I have also made barrier gates which are large enough to fit tractors and headers in the harvest season. The double barrier gates in the photo have a total with of 35 feet or 11 meters. These hang on RSJ posts with 25 mm adjustable hinges. A sturdy structure that will stop trespassers.
